Day 10): Goodbye Japan…. for now
Thanks to Member Reward (MR) points accumulated through American Express between my husband and me, we surprised our kids and my in-laws with return flights in business class on Air Canada. We transferred a total of 1,551,900 points to Air Canada to purchase the 7 business class tickets. We left from NRT airport at 16:40 and arrived in YVR (Vancouver Airport) for a 6 hour layover before heading to SFO. Although we were jet lagged, the lie-flat seats onboard Air Canda heped with our jet lag. The lounge at both NRT and YVR were spectacular. And although we did not take advantage of it, we did have access to shower facilities there.
Multi-generational travel means planning for flexibility—split bookings, private rooms, activities for every age group. Hotels with washers and dryers changed our packing game. Credit card points unlocked premium travel for seven. Tokyo’s public transit delivered quick and easy transport, Suica loaded and ready for every day’s adventure. Local foods—sushi, ramen, yakiniku—filled our bellies and hearts. The streets were so clean, without a piece of litter. And the hospitality was on another level.
Our Family Finding F.I.R.E. journey is always about more than finances: it’s the moments together, the rewards and the discoveries, showing the next generation what happens when we chase adventure and financial freedom, side by side
Until Next Time,
Faith
